The Sea Island Selvedge features a 12oz Japanese selvedge denim made from Virgin American Sea Island Cotton, representing the pinnacle of luxury in denim fabric. This ultra-rare Extra-Long Staple cotton is celebrated for its lustrous sheen, consistent texture, cashmere-like softness, and outstanding strength. With origins dating back to the 1600s West Indies, it was once so prized that British royalty sought to monopolize its exclusivity. By the 1800s, it spread to American colonies, though a severe beetle infestation nearly eradicated it in the 1920s.

In 2015, seeds preserved in a seed vault were cultivated in Texas and New Mexico, producing an American-grown strain identical to the original Sea Island Cotton. This rare cotton is now utilized by select Japanese mills, including ours. Drawing inspiration from 1920s denim, this fabric offers a vision of an alternate past—where Sea Island Cotton became the standard—resulting in jeans that are exceptionally soft and remarkably durable. Key finishing touches include contrast stitching, a sturdy paper patch, antique copper hardware, and a distinctive pink selvedge ID.

The True Guy is a straight leg fit with a medium rise along with extra room in the seat and thigh that falls straight from knee to hem.
